Yorgos Trilides holds an LLB form the University of Athens, an MSc from the University of Edinburgh and an MA from the University of East Anglia.  His memberships include the Cyprus Bar Association, the International Bar Association and the International Lawyers Group.  Yorgos joined the firm in 2003 becoming involved in the litigation department, a position which he held until 2013 when he became Partner.

Yorgos is the Head of our Litigation Department and his main areas of practice are corporate and commercial litigation, admiralty, banking and finance, and media law.  His experience extends to dealing with international commercial and corporate disputes, pursuing remedies for injunctive relief such as freezing orders, Mareva Injunctions and Norwich Pharmacal Orders.  He has extensive experience in cross-border, EU and non-EU, actions including procedures for registration and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.  He regularly handles complex cases from a broad array of civil jurisdiction matters (ranging from libel cases to shareholders disputes) and appears regularly before the District Courts around the island and in the Supreme Court of Cyprus.  Recently Yorgos has been engaged in high-profile ongoing litigation regarding the 2013 imposed bank “haircut” and the selling of bank bonds in the years 2008-2011.
